Work With Me
WRITING: I am a working independent journalist covering health justice, gender, sexuality, disability, wellness culture, and the media — among other topics. Since the pandemic, I’ve written extensively about Covid-19, but I’ve covered everything from pickles to the Miss America pageant. I’ve had bylines in The New York Times, The Nation, Vox, Teen Vogue, WIRED, The Guardian, Business Insider and more, and am often available for assignments. Check out some of my selected work here.
EDITING + PRODUCING: With a background in non-fiction book publishing and unscripted television, I have worked as a freelance TV producer editor for journalists and non-fiction authors. My recent projects include The Long COVID Survival Guide (The Experiment, Nov ‘22), and my work as a producer on “The Road to a Vaccine,” a Covid-19 news show produced by Johnson & Johnson, and hosted by Lisa Ling. I am also currently an editor for REI’s Uncommon Path.
MEDIA INQUIRIES: I frequently appear on news shows and podcasts as a COVID patient expert and journalist covering the pandemic, but I’ve also been interviewed about media entrepreneurship, creating LGBTQ+ inclusive wellness offerings, my work covering the Miss America Organization, and my time as a student journalist covering sexual assault on college campuses. I have appeared as a guest on CNN, MSNBC, BBC, NPR, Bloomberg QuickTake, Al Jazeera, and various Vox podcasts, in addition many other shows. To book me for a media appearance, please visit my profile at the Women's Media Center or email me below.
SPEAKING INQUIRIES: I’ve moderated and appeared on panels on a variety of topics – from tele-health to body image and self-love to LGBTQ+ rights in Russia, women in comedy, and Long COVID. To book me for a speaking appearance please fill out the short form below detailing the time and date of your event, whether it is in-person or virtual, and the honorarium being offered. Please note that I am unfortunately not available to speak pro bono, and am only interested in in-person events that require masks and offer livestreams.
I provide consulting services to non-profits, schools, companies, and individuals seeking guidance with editorial projects, communications, and community-building. I advise on brand and product launches, vision virtual communities, curate event series, and design media + communications plans. I am a fast researcher and skilled presenter with expertise on the creator economy, LGBTQ+ issues, peer-to-peer support and virtual communities, disability, chronic illness, caregiving, and more. I primarily work with clients in media & journalism, healthcare, wellness, and social justice, but I am open to working across a variety of industries. I currently direct editorial services at Bell+Ivy, and consult for several healthtech start-ups. Other recent projects include the Independent Journalists & Creators’ Club housed by CUNY’s Newmark Journalism School, and New York Track and Trace’s AfterCare program. From 2020-2021, I served as a subject matter expert to the CDC, WHO, NIH, and POTUS Covid-19 Equity Task Force, providing guidance on communications, definitions, and interim clinical guidance.
